Hidden Hunger At UM6P

At UM6P Science Week, I had the privilege of presenting on a topic that is often overlooked, yet critically important: hidden #hunger.

While global discussions frequently focus on food #quantity, my work highlights the urgent need to address food #quality—particularly the widespread issue of #micronutrient deficiencies, which continues to affect billions worldwide.

Through my presentation, I emphasized that hidden hunger is not just a health concern—it is a major barrier to human development, economic growth, and societal resilience. Improving nutrition means empowering children to learn better, supporting healthier pregnancies, and strengthening entire communities.

I would like to sincerely thank OCP Nutricrops for the opportunity and for fostering work that contributes to enhancing the nutritional density of crops through innovative, nutrition-sensitive approaches.

A key takeaway is clear: transforming our food systems must go beyond yield and production. It requires integrating nutrition-sensitive agriculture, including solutions such as biofortification, to improve the quality of what we grow and consume.

Encouraging to see science, policy, and innovation converge to tackle one of the most pressing global challenges of our time.

L’alimentation au travail est un enjeu qui gagne chaque année du terrain. Longtemps ignoré, ce paramètre est pourtant crucial pour la santé et le bien-être des collaborateurs mais aussi pour la marque employeur et la performance des entreprises. C’est pour cette raison que le concept d’atelier nutrition se répand et que de plus en plus de RH décident d’en mettre en place. L’objectif est de donner aux salariés les clés d’une alimentation saine et équilibrée et de les aider à faire les bons choix nutritionnels.
